BIO:

CAREER:

Sara Jane Skeete was born into a family that loved and revered music. Her mother,Beverly Skeete, is the amazing singer and vocalist behind everyone from Chaka Khan to Annie Lennox.

Sara Jane nurtured her talents in both writing and singing from a young age, releasing her first single, "Everywhere You Go" at the age of 18 with Queen Latifa. Sara Jane continued to write and sing after leaving the U.S. at age 19 to return to her UK roots. There, she worked with countless renowned talents such as Kylie Minogue, Bill Wyman, and Robbie Williams. But it was her work with Michael Jackson on his hurricane relief album that was her biggest inspiration and wake up call to what she wanted to do with her life’s work.

She looks to the greats like Stevie Wonder, not only his exemplary songwriting, but on a deeper level, his ability to help others see, in a way that only an artist with his experience could, both sublime objectivity and unique creativity. She’s taken with the divine constructions of Miss Etta James and her portrait of how the shadowy self and the angelic intermix.

Sara Jane incorporates it all, weaving in her own experiences and feelings to create pieces that resonate with audiences, whether center stage herself or in support of a collaborating artist.

Currently in the studio, we can look forward to Sara Jane’s songs in all genres - from rock to pop and R & B. Whatever space, mood or situation she encounters will be met with honestly, passion and her willingness to embrace the world.
